Natural Hair Care Tools

Natural hair care tools, by Joi Wade, were created to help with your hair. Joi set out to combat the natural hair struggles women experience with kinks, curls and coils. And she did it with her line of natural hair care tools.

Hair is important to us. If you think about it, hair is the first thing women change when they are looking to update their appearance. Just a simple haircut and color change can make a profound change in your appearance. It can completely change the way you view yourself and the way that others see you. Our hair is like a mirror to our soul. When your hair is seemingly out of control, you are in a world of despair. But have no fear, the solution is here.

Is it in the Genes?

People’s hair type is often believed to be determined by race or ethnicity. Not true! Your genes determine your hair type. Although our genes influence our hair type, they are not the only factor. Choices we make and our environment may most significantly impact our hair types. Your hair type can be affected by bleaching, styling, sicknesses, medications, aging, and more. Your hair is thinning due to stress, despite being born with natural dark, thick and wavy hair. Maybe your natural hair is fine, limp, and lifeless. You notice your hair is thicker, shinier, and filled with volume since you started taking prenatal vitamins. Perhaps you are using our product, Uuth, and your hair is becoming stronger and shinier. Knowledge is power. Women who have been using these natural hair care tools for years continue to experience great results. Those ladies with hard to manage hair, especially.

Knowledge is Power!

Wade orchestrated a study with 300 black participants, each having type 4 hair, looking for a wash day solution. Remember, Type 4 hair is kinky and curly, with spiral curls. Type 4 hair is the most fragile. The participants’ identified their top 3 challenges as retaining moisture, dealing with breakage, and detangling their hair. Joi created a wash day kit to solve these challenges.

Wade tells us to maintain our hair with a solid routine. To help, she created a wash day kit using her knowledge of the toughest Type 4 hair. Every hair tool in the wash day kit was created with the most delicate hair in mind. Further, from shampooing, to detangling, then drying, always treat your hair properly.

My Story – Natural Hair Care Tools

natural hair care products

It’s really difficult for me to wear my hair long or to leave it in its natural state because my hair type is 1A. I have learned and become accustomed to the idea that I should have always sported a short haircut, now that I am an adult. I tried to wear it long when I was young instead. It looked terrible always. The night before school pictures, my mom would always give me a home perm to give my hair some body. On the day of the pictures, I would get up, get dressed, and then mom would style my hair for me. Let’s just say my hairstyle involved a lot of teasing. I hated all my school pictures from 7th grade and below. Straight as an arrow. Yep, that was me. Straight, flat, dull, and lifeless.

I put my foot down regarding the upcoming school pictures for my 8th grade year. I asked if I could wear my hair straight when mom asked about the home perm the night before school pictures. And mom let me. Yeah, no perm. I looked so bad in my eighth grade pictures that I could have scared away rats on a sinking ship. The only good life lesson I know from my hair type, perms, and anything else is that even though I wear my hair short today, it can still be lifeless and without volume. My hair is totally natural right now. On my journey to great hair, I have ordered Wade’s hair care tools. Looking for a life vest.

Read on to verify your hair type:

Type 1 Hair A, B, and C

type 1b hair

You have generally straight hair if you have hair type 1. But straight hair also has texture. Category 1 has the various hair types.

  • Type 1A hair is very straight hair with no bend, bounce, or wave. It can be tough to add texture to it. People with straight hair use perms to get a bit of curl from time to time.
  • Type 1B hair is straight, but has a little wave to it. Enough to have a bit of bounce and subtle curves in the wave, but not much. This kind of hair is easier to curl without chemicals.
  • Type 1C hair is a mix of straight and curly hair. Weather conditions and humidity can affect this type of hair, but not always.

Type 2 Hair A, B, and C

This hair type is usually wavy. But the waves vary. So, you can figure out exactly what kind of hair you have.

natural hair care products
  • Type 2A hair is usually loose waves, with the hair straight at the crown of the head. The waves slowly form towards the middle of the head but they are very fine and thin with not much texture..
  • Type 2B hair is straight at the crown, with the wave starting in the middle. However, these waves are more defined, forming an S shape as they descend to the hair tip. This type of wave is usually a bit more coarse in texture and can tend to frizz.
  • Type 2C hair is wavy from the crown to the tip. The texture of the wave is more like a curl or ringlet. Sometimes the texture is coarse and the hair is thick. Extreme frizzing is common with this hair type.

Type 3 Hair A, B, and C

Type 3 hair is the most popular. We all want big, fat, bouncy curls. Type 3 hair types have smooth, shiny and voluminous hair. The message seems to be “My hair is healthy and beautiful,” which is what we’re going for. Unfortunately, we don’t always have this. It is all about your gene pool, as I said before.

  • Type 3A curls are big loose spirals. These curls are shiny and springy, with a soft texture and well defined S-shape.
  • Type 3B curls are a little tighter curls. Ringlets to corkscrews, the curl ranges. This hair type gives you more volume and density. This hair type is also coarse.
  • Type 3C curls are the coily curls. They are extremely tight and corkscrew in shape. Your hair appears to have some shrinkage due to this type of curl. Your hair volume will appear denser and have greater volume.

Type 4 Hair A, B, and C

You may fall in this hair type, as with most people with an ethnic background. This type tends to use chemical enhancement to manage our curly, frizzy hair. That will no longer be the case with this new product. Let’s explore this Type 4 hair in the meantime.

type 4c hair
  • Type 4A hair has a tight curl that forms an S shape. This hair type is dense, with springy coils varying from wiry to fine. Usually, the hair is very coarse and thick.
  • Type 4B hair is unique because its curls look more like a z-shape pattern with sharp edges and angles. The curl is less defined in shape, but tighter. The curl strand varies from fine and thin to wiry too coarse.
  • Type 4C hair is coarse and dense. It is so dense, thick, and coarse that the curls have little definition. This hair type can range from super fine curls to wiry and coarse. The curls are delicate and can be lost easily. It also frizzes badly.
